Location: Alpha Nightclub, Dubai
Dates: Every Tuesday night during October from Oct 6
Time: 8pm onwards, six bands per week
Judges: Four music-mad judges will form a panel each week. Hailing from publications such as Time Out Dubai, 7DAYS and Dubai 92, as well as respected brands including Diesel, Sennheiser and EMI Arabia, they will pick their favourite two acts each week.
Eighteen bands will battle it out during this weekly Tuesday night competition “Diesel:U:Music Road to Dubai Sound City”— at Alpha.
Two winners will be selected each week, with the final winner — chosen on October 27 — going on to choose their slot at the Irish Village during Dubai Sound City. The five runners-up will also be given slots during the festival.
In addition, the winning act will embark on a musical odyssey to Vienna courtesy of Diesel:U:Music on November 12. Please see www.dieselumusic.com for details. That’s not all: Sennheiser, as official microphone sponsors for Road to Sound City, will also provide their premium kit to the winner for the next year.
